What is the strangest thing your pet ever did?

When I was 15ish I had this cat I named Wooden because I saw him run head first into a telephone pole and I said he was dumb as wood. One day I am outside and I hear the strangest sound. I walk around the house and find that the tree above my picnic table is filled with birds. Wooden is standing atop the table, on his hind legs, singing to the birds. It was the strangest and most alien beautiful song. Idk if he was trying to lure them closer for the kill or just show them his love for them. Maybe both.

Sometimes cats make those noises because they want badly to catch the birds. I've had cats that sat on the windowsill looking out and it sounded almost like singing, more like nervous energy and anticipation.
I had a Siamese cat that saw a butterfly and jumped up trying to catch it and ended up doing a somersault, would have loved to have that on film, it was decades ago.
Apparently some wildcats do sort of the same thing. They learn how to imitate the sounds monkeys make to lure them closer when they're hunting. Pretty brilliant.

Wow, I always knew microlions were smarter than most people think.

@AmbivalentFriability: I've heard that as well. Predators have all kinds of wild behaviors.
