I feel sorry for the thousands of “lockdown pets” that were rescued as lockdown companions and then abandoned as soon as lockdown was over….

I do too. It's been ongoing problem and concern for animal shelters and rescues here in the US, too. They are overwhelmed with 'surrendered' dogs and cats, even more usual. It's hard to think about the confusion, fear and sadness those animals surely feel, being abandoned by those they thought were their people. 😞
