Awesome sight but watch your pets

An avid birdwatcher since a kid, I often see these babies since I live near the city limits. Saw a huge one land on a neighborhood bridge railing just a few yards away the other day, not shy of you. This one was seen nesting as a pair with another nearby. Perching for prey but known to take off with rodents and even small dogs and cats. Watch your pets!

I think it's safe to say was a cat, with no lives left. Poor little one, such a CATastrophe.

A few years back I was just walking in the nature preserve we have nearby...

...and some bird swooped down tried to make off with my hat right from my head! I could feel the claws scrape through the hat. Pretty brave of these suckers, they're not afraid of people anymore now that we're in their natural habitat.

@PatKirby scary 😟 the video with the toddler is crazy, I didn’t realise they would go for little humans. I know there was a story here of a little dog taken. Sad 😔

@PatKirby I know nature is harsh...and it has to be that way but how sad.
Poor kitty.
