Is There A Noisier Insect Than Cicadas?

Then make so much noise all summer long. Thank God for the Mississippi kites that come here in the spring and hunt the cicadas and eat them. They are easy for the birds to hunt as their loud buzzing leads them right to them. It’s amusing to hear cicadas buzzing loudly as the kites are flying off with them in their mouths.

Don't know about insect noises...although I do remember the cicadas in the summer...but those little tree frogs make an immense amount of noise at night.

@4meAndyou they do. I lived in a heavily wooded area about 6 miles from here and at night when you drive through the area you can hear them near and far, it’s actually a nostalgic noise for me. One night when I was a teen I couldn’t sleep because there was a tree frog outside. I opened the front door and found one on the glass storm door, had to peel it’s suction-cup toes off the door and take him out to the lawn and release him.
