I've had this plant for months now, and there's a weird white thing growing out of it. Should I be worried?

My camera is really bad so I apologize but in the second picture (current day) there's a white flower thing growing out of one of the stems. When a plant grows, is it normal for something else to just grow out of it?

Those plants change the colour of their specks. I think it has something to do with the acidity in the soil.

Maybe but yeah I noticed the color does change. Some of them are a pale pink while others are a really dark, vivid red-pinkish color
