She's a female twobanded antmimic (Castianeira cingulata). Very friendly, easy to hold, and didn't mind Paisley all up in her business (she loves her little arthropod friends). We don't usually find many of these, and especially not in the house. But with the insect population decline, the spiders and insects we have been seeing are more unusual. While it's cool to see little friends that aren't normally around or out in the open, it does worry me.
@SW-User Exactly. We live in the woods and sometimes have a lot of wood roaches coming into the house after a good rain. I can always count on the spiders lurking around to help out, then leave once the problem is gone.
