Do you have a pet?

Since getting my pet kitty, my anxiety has defintely decreased even more so than my medications have helped, especially since I live alone. Essentially, they both go hand and hand.

I had a wonderful cat for 15 years. He is gone now and I miss him a lot. Unfortunately I live in a roominghouse where I rent 1 room, no pets allowed.

@JaneCas I am going to need a senior care facility. Some of them have cats, so I can hope mine will.

@JaneCas Yes, my kitty cat was very comforting. Whenever I felt sad or depressed, he would show up (he'd come in thru his cat door if he was outside) and rub against me and purr. He always seemed to know how I was feeling.

I went through hell trying to preserve his life when my mother became a threat to him. I was sure she would kidnap him and kill him. She threatened to do so. And to make it clear she meant business she killed our friend's cat, a cat I loved. She even bragged about it every so often just to watch me wince and become depressed. I basically had to make the decision to allow my crazy sociopathic mother to fully control my life or go to work every weekday wondering if my beloved cat would be there when I got home. My cat was my best friend, and in fact my only friend, for a long time.
