Does your life intrinsically have any more value than that of any other animal?

I say no.
A life is a life and it's the only one any creature gets. Mine is not more objectively valuable just because i'm a human.

Me too. And i guess that can be argue as self defense. They could give you a disease but even if they don't they are attacking you, preying upon you and you have as much right to defend yourself as they have to try and survive.
But neither of you has more value than the other.
