Do you believe zoos cruel and exploitative, or a way to educate the public about wildlife?

Animals in captivity tend to be more docile when released back into the wild. It reduces their chances of faring with the competition. That being said, I am not a fan of this. As a biologist I’d much rather keep them in a reserve. Zoos are mostly for profit in the name of conservation.

If people make a profit doing good helpful things its great. The idea that profit is necessarily negative is absurd.

Absolutely, but if it reduces an animals ability to compete in its natural environment, its best they continue to keep it in captivity.@Dale321
