Nearly lost Riff.

I'm trying to introduce her to the outside world.
I carry her in my arms and walk her around the courtyard.
She wriggles and squirms and breathes heavily, whimpers and cries. Not in excitement or joy. To go back inside.
This evening she damn near got away from me; she's a strong girl! She struggled out of my arms and I almost didn't catch her.
Tips on how to make the transition to being an outdoor cat as well as indoor??

Keep her inside? Outdoor cats die faster

@SW-User Smudge was an indoor cat for years as we lived in a flat that was on a busy main road. But when we moved and it was safe to let her out she loved it. I remember when she saw her first butterfly, and had her first roll in the grass, a sunbath on warm concrete. I want Riff to experience these things too.

@Cavedweller she will when she's ready to

@SW-User I hope so. I've the perfect space for safe play and exploration.

@Cavedweller don't force her. Maybe she'll want to go out with smudge sometime

@SW-User Yeah, Riff has a hero worship deal going on with Smudge. Follows her everywhere, emulates her, tries that nose bump that cats sometimes do. So if Smudge is outside then maybe she'll want to do what the big cat is doing.
