I need to give Riff more love.

Yesterday was a particularly bad day for Riff. She'd been getting aggro from all sides from Smudge, she was hissed at, swiped at, growled at and just generally abused. She joined me on the sofa while Smudge was eating and buried her head in my leg. And sighed. When she surfaced she looked at me with big kitten eyes, I read that as, "just love me. Protect me. I'm little."
I just want them to get along. I'm tired of all this tension. It's rotten for everyone that lives here. (Me, and the two cats. )

It`s great that she knows you love her and you have her back, and she DOES know this :) Cats are so incredible.

They may never get along.
I have this at my home too.

The bigger one, is that the first cat, so the dominant one of the turf?

Well, it`s also a personality thing; that`s the deal with us :)

@LunadelobosIAMTHEDRAGON Yep, Smudge is the bigger cat. She was here first. Little Riff tries so hard to engage in play with her but is rebuffed every time.
I love them both so much and I show it, and prove it. I don't play favourites.
It's strange, they're so alike in so many ways but so far they aren't meshing.
Do you have just the two?

@Cavedweller We are parents to three felines
and one very small canine who thinks the cats are her sisters.
Yeah. She is the youngster, so she grew up with them 💓

I am always cleaning up cat litter, sht, hair balls, vomit, brushing someone, cutting someone`s nails,
and wiping with baby wipes followed by toilet paper the butt and/OR
cutting shtty bum hair off...and so on. 😵😆😂😂😂

It`s really FUN...
But seriously, they ARE delightfully incredible, funny, LOVING and my family. My kids.

@LunadelobosIAMTHEDRAGON Despite all the friction I wouldn't trade my family for anything. There are times that are just so golden; like when we all snuggle on the couch. Smudge sleeps on my stomach and Riff curls up in the crook of my elbow.
Your family sounds like a barrel of monkeys!!
