What do you think the best thing to do with the cat?

One of my friends has a cat that is around 14 years old. She wants to get rid of it because it uses one room in her house and she doesn't want it anymore. It violently attacked her one day and thats why she keeps in in a room. Its what the cat is use to since its been that way for years. The room has windows and things to climb on. I am looking for rescues to give the cat to. But I just wonder if you think this is the best thing for the cat. Considering the age of the cat. I just think that maybe it could be too traumatic for the cat since thats all she is use to. I don't believe that the cat has bad behavior that can just be corrected but I think that it does have some other mental problem. It is almost feral acting. One time it got outside and circled the house for hours just screaming and growling at everyone and every thing.

I just don't know if its better to allow it to live the rest of its live in what it knows or give it away to a rescue. I know that the cat will be really stressed out from being in a new environment.

I have mixed emotions.

I would hate to have to give it away and it is miserable. I definitely wont adjust easy maybe not at all.

@Goralski If you would read my post its in a room because it attacks people. Not like a normal cat that has behavior problems.

I love animals I've had all types of animals all my life.

I hate the situation that it is in too. But it is understandable. I would be scared of my cat too if it jumpped on my head and left huge scratches on my arms and had me locked in the bathroom. It attacked someone that took care of them ever since they were a kitten. Even when they weren't even bother the cat.

If my situation was different. I would take the cat myself. Except I will not risk my pets being injured.

I worry when it leaves it will just never be adopted and honestly thats sadder than it living in a room that its use to. With everything it needs to survive.

Im just asking for advice of the situation now not judgement.

I know its sad and sucks but my friend just doesn't know what to do.

And im just trying to help her do whats best for the cat. Because I also feel bad for it.
