White Lump On Betta Fish

I woke up this morning and Taco has a white lump on his underbelly... looking back at the photo from yesterday it was there but barely noticeable and now it’s bigger... I’m a bit worried... anyone know what this is?

My best suggestion would be to post that pic on a freshwater fish forum or bring it to a knowledgeable aquarium store

I was told that that they never made tags for females that they all say males. Is it entirely possible my Taco is a girl..? I hope it’s neither a tumor or ick... I’d feel really bad if it was...

@Throger No, female bettas are usually brownish and very plain looking. Although you can occasionally fish a flashy female, they're usually clearly marked as such and priced much higher.

@Zaphod42 gotcha. I’ll try a freshwater forum... I’m a bit upset since I’ve only had this fish for a day and I tested vigorously before putting any fish in there

@Butterflykisses24 Could be, but after two days of showing signs it's usually not only all over that fish but most other fish in the tank too. Stunning how fast that stuff spreads.
