I'm surprised how he's even survived so many years with such a bad camouflage!! Showoff snake!! 馃槒

@Vivaci He's quite bright, isn't he? It's called aposematic coloration, a warning to potential predators of his very potent venom.
@BlueMetalChick He's gorgeous, look at his neon orange tongue... 馃挄 Wow! Potent too.... Now that's a lethal combination... Like Harley Quinn..

@Vivaci I've never been bitten by one, thankfully, but I've suffered from a number of other venomous snake bites. More than one have almost killed me. I got bit in the foot by an inland taipan in Australia. I'm shocked that I didn't die from it.
@BlueMetalChick You have??? Yikes... 馃槚

You're so lucky... God bless you with a long life! Stay safe and away from snakes now... 馃

@Vivaci I think the only reason I wasn't killed is because it may have been a half-bite. Some snakes can control how much venom they inject, and often if they bite from being startled or provoked they only inject a half dosage.
@BlueMetalChick OK... So next time you're out in the wild, make sure you wear those thick long ankle boots or hiking shoes. Please!!! 馃樉
BlueMetalChick26-30, F
@Vivaci Oh nowadays I can do that, for certain. This happened when I was a dirty homeless war refugee, I didn't own shoes of any kind, I wore barely more than homemade clothing sewn from rough jute cloth.
@BlueMetalChick 馃槺馃槩 Really? Oh you remind me of my college bestie who came from a very educated well to do family but was forced out of their own town and became a refugee. I'm sorry you had to endure so much at your age. And I'm glad it's all in the past and you've a bright future ahead of you!! 馃槉 馃

@Vivaci Yeah, I was born in Sana'a, and as you may be aware Yemen is a pretty fucked up place right now. So my sister and I left as soon as we could, we ended up in Queensland because the Aussie navy was doing humanitarian efforts and we managed to get flown back to the land down under. But we couldn't stay legally so we lived there as long as we could until we were forced to leave, at which point we went to Singapore.
@BlueMetalChick OH my! So you were without your parents in Australia & Singapore? 馃槩馃様
BlueMetalChick26-30, F
@Vivaci Yeah, my mom didn't make it out of Yemen. My dad and I got separated. I found him many years later in Chicago.
@BlueMetalChick I'm sorry, sweetheart.... I wish she could also have escaped to Australia that day with you girls. 馃槥 ((tight hugs))

I sometimes wonder how a handful of politicians can turn millions of people into refugees..... I wish we could learn from our mistakes but we never do. You're lucky you at least got together with your dad one day.... But it's just as rare as a miracle.
BlueMetalChick26-30, F
@Vivaci For a while I wanted to go back and see if I could do something to help. But it never came to fruition.
@BlueMetalChick Some day you might get a chance to do something for the women in Sanaa, you never know. Learn international law, and join UN or World Bank. Maybe you'll be able to make a difference. You're so bright and smart. You can do anything that you put your mind to.

Look at Madeleine Albright or Ivonne Cuesta....
