I want to ask...Does anyone remember Lassie

The first I recall was "Jeff's Collie" Of which Jeff's Dad had to move to the city for a better job (character Write off)Leaving, Jeff gave Lassie to Timmy. The film scene kept the same set for the new family. Remember there wasn't a refrigerator. It was an'Ice Box'
No refrigeration, merely a large block of Ice that kept the food cold, preventing spoilage
Why can't we have decent shows for our children today?
Lassie will ever be my favorite T.V. show. I would love to find D.V.D.'s Of these wonderful shows return.

Tell me what old fashion family films YOU would enjoy returned.

I remember the Lassie show but didn't know about that beginning.

Yes Jeff's family moved into the farm house. He was upset that he couldn't take Lassie with him to the city. But once meeting him he knew Lassie would be well cared for.

Why can't they bring back the family shows that are good and healthy for our little ones?
Then I can go on and remind you of National Velvet She named this Thoroughbred horse PYE.

@Carla1951 I hear you about the shows for kids. I'm far from being a prude but even I get sick of all the wanton sex in everything and even more sick of the stupid crap that passes for humour these days. Give me some good, old fashioned comedy and shows that teach kid's some values.

@katielass I am with you on this. As Children we watched the Kids helping in the Kitchen. Clearing the table without being told.
Always saying Please and Thank-you. And not even telling Mom how wonderful the meal was. But time passes and we move on, and life forgets the better days when a family was always there and helping others.

@Carla1951 Well, you didn't realize you were being taught things when you were a kid but if you watch the re runs now as an adult, you can see how they did teach kids our values, like not stealing, not bullying, etc. These days those values are more important than ever because, unfortunately, most parents aren't parenting and teaching their kids anything except how to act like an obnoxious brat that no one likes.
