I'm at crisis point.

My wee cat is scratching the hell out of my brand new couch despite the new scratch post I got for her. Anything I could maybe rub on the post to make it more appealing or something slightly nasty to apply to the couch to deter her?

Cats are going to be cats... sometimes there's a spray you can use. You can get at Petco.
Or use catnip on the post

@aradia11 yes, cats will be cats but they can also be trained. I think I'll use catnip on the post.
