Today was another loss. Woke up this morning to finding Sammie really sick. The veterinarian prescribed medicine and hydration via Iv. He was surprised that in the winter parvo was this aggressive. I bleached and cleaned repeatedly after cuddles passed away. I found some animal parts from a coyote or deer. I have no clue how it got in the yard so scattered out. The puppies stay playing in the yard and in the front. It’s a large playground with their toys. All they did was play with each other and showered with love. Sammie was given medicine and showed improvement at first. Then it went downhill hours later and didn’t know it. I went to pick him up and his entire body went limp. I cried cried cried and begged him not to leave me too. He passed away in my bedroom on his little pad. The entire end of life process happened in front of me. I cried and cried more. The veterinarian told me I did nothing wrong at all. We have numerous stray dog problems in the city and apparently they are back.
There are 2 puppies remaining. The vet said to wait at least one week to make sure no symptoms gonna show up. then we can proceed with vaccination. All of their vaccinations were already scheduled but apparently something happened that I didn’t witness. I feel so broken and horrible but everyone said I am the best damn puppy mother. I was there from their birth till their last hour on earth. I even held them while singing to them.
@SWfan thank you! I want kids on my own and hope to be pregnant soon. I did everything for them and there were times they probably didn’t understand certain actions at time. They loved the outdoors like their mom. I didn’t restrict them at all because the yard was big. I kept close eyes on them until they were getting very good at staying around the perimeter. I was still teaching everyone different manners. They minded so well and were so happy to see me in the mornings. I even called the humane society for assistance and helping me learning. We both did it together especially me. I did everything I could for everyone. All puppies stayed boxing by the door outside lol sounds like cats fighting.
I remember when Sammie and Cuddles were a little younger..they got wet in the rain. All four pups were barely walking because they were crawling. Their mom is a lab and love water especially them. I carried them in the house and blow dried them off. All 4 got dried and wrapped in the towel lol
I been there for all four since the exact minute of birth. I was training them up so well but certain things such as not bringing back junk or not drinking mud water were difficult. All four puppies were at the stage of curiosity. I remember hugging all four and singing to them. They also took Christmas photos.
I had a new puppy that got parvo when the vet gave him the shot. Not sure where he got it from other than from the vet, but he died a week later. The vet would not accept any responsibility, but did offer to do an autopsy on him for $100 extra.
@deadgerbil yes it is and it has been addressed so many times. There’s a voluntarily rescue but it’s only two people with other help. The animal shelter and etc help shut down. The city says this isn’t their problem
@Monaschandroff86 yes and was born in the middle of October. We have a large acre of land and apparently some animals either peed or left their poop or contaminated the soil somehow. It definitely weren’t the pets own waste. They never even left the yard.
