@wetncthru Animals can be very smart, I've had cats that were very aware that they had been rescued into a good life and they were openly grateful.
My little Mamakitty is a perfect example. She was a starving, tiny, feral cat that took a chance and scored when she approached me asking for food.😻🤗 She still hisses at other people, but she is absolutely trusting and affectionate toward me.😹
