I went on vacation a few years ago and left my rabbit with my roommate (trusting her to take good care of him). When I came home, my roommate had moved 3 strangers and 2 dogs into our apartment, and my poor rabbit was absolutely traumatized. He growled at me any time I tried to talk to him or pet him, and he wouldn't come out of his hidey box. I promptly moved out of there and took him with me. Gradually he was able to trust me again once we were in a calm, safe environment.
I will NEVER trust my pets with anyone again. 😤
