I've been doing this almost as long as I've had him, about 5 years now. He is sure-footed and obedient dog who knows his business. I've been bikejoring with him in dark forest roads late at nights and he has always kept me on the road. I wouldn't put a dog I don't trust 100% ahead of my bike.
