Have you ever had to lie to a kid to get out of bad scenarios?
Srory 1:
I have a collar with chained clamps.
It's well hidden now, but at one point, a few years ago, I'd forgotten to hide it before my nieces (then 8, 10, and 11) came to visit.
I figured it was safe, even tho it wasn't hidden, because nieces knew they weren't allowed into my bedroom.
Boy, was I wrong.
Oldest niece got into my bedroom without being caught, and came back with the choker, asking "what's this?"
I panicked, but still managed to tell her "it's part of a dog leash"
Niece: "but... You don't havea dog.."
Me: well, no... Not technically, but Pantera (my cat, not the band) barks, does tricks, and hates it when I call her a cat, so she thinks she's a dog. And that's why I have a collar. She likes wearing it when going for a walk sometimes.
I'm so glad niece believed me and didn't ask any more questions 🙈
However, now my sister (the kids's mom) refers to Pantera (still my cat, not the band) as a doggo 😅
Story 2:
The kids asked me where kids come from.
I was quick on my feet for once and told them "I don't know. Ask your mom. I don't have kids bc I haven't figured it out yet, but your mom has 3 of you, so she obviously knows"
They accepted that answer 🤣
