Do you have an indoor cat or one who likes to go out at night?
Mossy loves being indoors and doesn't venture any further than the garden. Do animals have bad memories that stay with them? She was in a bad way when she was found, I often thought her injuries were by human hands and not a cat fight. I don't believe that it is only elephants who never forget.

They definitely remember! It can take years to overcome bad experiences. My cats are from a feral colony, keeping them inside is impossible. They will threaten to tear up the blinds! Not kidding, paw on the threatened object, and eyes locked on yours... the threat is very clear!🤣 They both keep a very small territory and Mamakitty is usually inside at night.
@mossyboots I had a another cat that looked like a small ragdoll cat, but she was MEAN!! One of the neighbors tried to keep her... until she heard me whistle and call her name. The front window covers on that house damned near exploded! 🤣🤣 No one can kittynap my cats! It will not go well for them.😼😼 Both cats dislike each other, but I have watched them gang up on another animal that they viewed as a threat. It's crazy behavior.😆
