I lost 2 cats to parvo and I'm afraid I will lose more.

Last August 23, I lost my kitten. He got sick, and I thought he died because he ate something bad, like a cockroach, which they really like. While he was weak, I tried to nurse him with water and food and even brought his mom to keep him warm. But he flinched, and then he suddenly died. I was devastated.

Yesterday, August 25, I noticed the mother wasn’t eating. She looked healthy, but I thought maybe she was grieving the loss of her kitten. That night, she suddenly showed the same symptoms as the kitten who died first. At that moment, I realized it might be contagious. I remembered that I had made the mother lie beside the kitten, and then I learned about a disease called Feline Panleukopenia (FPV). The symptoms matched exactly.

It hit me. I might have unintentionally exposed her by bringing her close to the kitten. I was crushed and cried so much. I read that while FPV has no cure, disinfecting everything the infected cats touched can help, so I bleached everything I could. But I know I didn’t catch every spot, and now I’m panicking that it might affect my still-healthy cats. I feel so distressed right now.

@AthrillatheHunt No parvo is like a disease name for dogs.
