My cat just freaked tf out!!!

He started growling, his hair was standing up & he was looking around my room, clearly seeing something... WTF???

It could be that he is HEARING something that is upsetting to him, in the higher registers beyond human hearing. It could be that he is looking around trying to FIND the source of the sound that only he can hear.
