There is a cat in my house and I'm trying to be okay

@Musicman trauma from my childhood, the litter box and then jumping on counters,.... I know I'm a mess.
he was in our backyard and the boys noticed him and opened the door, he ran inside and that was it. Next thing I know I'm taking it to the vet and buying cat food for it.

@Cigarguy I would do anything for a cat, but cannot have one due to my lung issues, the litter box thing, an outdoor cat won't work being on the top floor of an apartment building.

@Cigarguy Take him back to the Vet and ask them to scan him. People put chips in their hind quarters just under the skin. If he has an owner you can take him back and tell the kids he has a home. There is also the off chance that the previous owner of your house owned him and just left him. If you really want to know have him scanned. It only takes a second.

@Musicman ok but I've been wiping down the counters a lot and got hyped focused on it a few times. The litter box isn't bothering me as much as I thought. It's just my counters. He keeps jumping on them. And I have to wipe them every time he jumps up there.
