After my husband died it felt like I had lost a limb. I put my mind to various interests and hobbies, I have never been one to join clubs, although I don't consider myself antisocial. I belong to a couple of voluntary organisations and love the work, but I wanted a little more. Then Jasper came into my life. He is now eleven years old and the most beautiful and sweet cat. His life is good and we are happy. We have beautiful sunny mornings, I drink my tea sitting in the garden while he plays or strolls around on patrol. It's amazing how an animal can give you such joy after living alone. He has nooks he claims as his own, he watches tv with me, sits next to me or on my lap. He rubs foreheads with me, doing a brain exchange of love. I wouldn't be without him. Not sure how he would react if I decided to get another cat - maybe a rescue one?
