Try replacing your houseplant with a spider plant.
It has dual benefits. They remove toxins from the air for everyone, and they cause mild euphoria in cats. MY cat likes to nibble on the spider plant babies, which hang down on long umbilical cords.
He does this if he feels mildly nauseated, or when he is hungry. And then he throws up and I see bits of the spider plant when I am cleaning it up.
