How to tame a cat?

I never had the aggresive one before. I adopted an adult female cat for four months. I tried to play with her but she bit and scratched me.
I rarely bleed but this is new. She scratched me really hard.

I'm a bit stunned. Too stunned to react. 🤣

i am taking care of lots of feral cats. i earn their trust. give the cat space and let them decide when it is time to cuddle up.

Watch "My Cat from Hell" reruns or on YouTube.

Some cats get too much energy from hand play, and you can't use the hand for play or petting.

Get toys like wands where you can play from a distance.

Never try to touch a cat who is adopted, until you extend your hand and allow the cat to sniff you. Playing with a strange cat might be interpreted by the cat as aggression on your part. You don't know if the cat is afraid, or has been mistreated. Above all, give the cat her space, and allow her to show YOU what she wants to do.

If worse comes to worse, buy a Feliway hormone thing. It plugs into an electric outlet, and injects calming cat hormones into the air.

Often they act out from previous trauma, so one way is let them have a lot of space... I have one who needs more, I give him all the space in the world, but I also know I may have to pick him up by the scruff on the back of his neck at times. I'm thankful I have an older cat who mostly takes care of him (and I do give him lots of affection and play)
