@Clarashelper nope because my neighbors love small dogs as well. Small dogs are perfect for kids

Chihuahuas are small, but they can be active and overly-energetic. That doesn't mean it would be the wrong dog, especially with training, but it might not be the "perfect dog" based on the circumstances you describe. What about a cat? If you are set on a dog, perhaps a Pomeranian.
