Dropping a couple grand on my dogs surgery are words I never thought I’d ever have to say…

Well I’m in a little bit of debt. Thank god the new CC had 0% interest for the first year 😅🥲

He had bladder stones, one got stuck in his urethra, they thought it was just the 1 with the imagine but during surgery they ended up removing more than a dozen stones! 😭😭😭 we got him fixed while he was under anesthesia too, he’s an English bulldog so I’m not trying to get him down more than necessary for anesthesia… we had been waiting 2yr to get him neutered because he’s epileptic and his vet didn’t want to put him under unnecessarily until he had gone 3+ months seizure free. Well he hasn’t made it that long without seizures, he kept having breakthrough seizures so we kept pushing surgery back, the bladder surgery was urgent and necessary so now that he’s needing to be getting one thing down we’re going to do both…

He’s spending the night at the vet, he’s probably so scared and missing his bed and little humans 🥺🥺🥺

Yeah I know the struggle. My dog's going to get a tumor removed next week and the vet estimate is already over 3 grand. It's the second time she's had to get that surgery for the exact same thing.

She was really whiny and grumpy after the first surgery - for good reason - though I felt so guilty seeing her so miserable. It needed to be done, and thankfully she was on so many meds afterwards that she mostly just slept.

Money's going to be tight for a while, but they're worth it. In a couple of weeks things will be alright and your dog will be back to his old self.

I remember when my male cat had this issue. He was originally a outdoor cat and the neighbkrhood cats often had bladder issues and didn't live long (like 9 years tops).

He became deeply attached to me deapite being one of many cats and when he had health jssues I broke down and gave up all my savings to keep him alive. When I visited him at the vet after the surgery, he was wearing a little cone around his neck and was so excited to see us. He kept dancing, and turning. Eventually he turned completely around in his dance and saw his reflection in the silver kennel and stopped dancing and just started at that. We looked at each other, and my godmother said thats my cat (he would get confused easily), so I tapped the metal floor behind him and he turned and atarted doing his happy dance again. We had to leave him a extra night, was sad leaving him.

I couldn't afford to buy a car because of him, but worth every penny.
Best to do it like this!

@Selah I feel terrible I can’t imagine being unable to empty my bladder for 3 days and just continuously dribbling pee 😭😭😭😭

@Selah that’s without insurance
He’s epileptic and got it before we had insurance for him so idk if any will cover him 🤷🏻‍♀️
