The vet who put Ulysses to sleep was super nice

After they sedated him he was saying “My guess would be lymphoma,” explaining that sometimes an ultrasound (which we did) doesn’t always catch that and if it was truly a gastrointestinal condition, we should have been seeing some improvement by now given all the care we’ve put into him. “I’m really sorry it had to come to this. But you two did all you could for him,” he said “It’s clear to me that you’ve been great, loving owners to him.” That was just what we needed to hear. I thanked him for everything and even after it was done, he told us to take all the time we needed. At least we can say he was in good care right until the end.
