Have you ever had a Frenchie? The shelter I got Teddy from had a Frenchie girl who was just absolutely adorable, but most of her page was dedicated to making sure potential adopters knew they aren’t low-maintenance/easy dogs. They were hoping to find someone who’d had one before. Luckily she found her home pretty quick! I thought it was good they were really doing their best to avoid a situation where she’d be brought back just because she was more than cute.

@JustNik Some breeds (and individual animals) just have traits bred into them you have to allow for. Matching a an owner to a dog can be an artform..😷

@JustNik No, but my best friend had one for several years and I pet sat her occasionally. Babette’s personality was pretty mellow but then my friend did have a lot of experience with dogs. I had a Chihuahua when I was a teenager and surprisingly, they are not easy for first time dog owners. They have very strong temperaments for being so small, kind of like they’re compensating.

@bijouxbroussard Good point. Our first dog as a couple was a Pekinese. (Dont Judge) My family had history with them and he was our fur kid. Talk about wilful and stubborn..And wanted to pick a fight with anything larger than himself.. Definitely small man syndrome..😷

@bijouxbroussard Babette. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a more perfect name for a Frenchie! 😄💕 I can definitely see that strong temperament in Teddy. I don’t think dachshunds are a slouch, either, so you put that and a chihuahua in one tiny body, you get quite a deal. 😂 He’s more fierce than any big dog I ever had, even if he’s shaking like a leaf! I hope you find your perfect pal, bijoux. 😄
