@cherokeepatti No , she was so excited to help that she would run in the house with stuff and then come back for more...and we then had to find where she put it

@TexChik We had a German Shepherd that watched us unload groceries from the back of the car. We carried the bags to the deck in front of the front door. He ran up and grabbed a whole chicken out of one of the bags, it was shrink-wrapped in plastic, and he ran around to behind the house and I chased him. Never found that chicken. And he hadn’t had time to eat it yet, he must have dropped it in a hiding place to eat it later.

@cherokeepatti She was a goofy dog...we only let her carry in things that were in smaller packages

@TexChik any pet that wants to help is a keeper in my book. My uncle had a German shepherd and he would corner snakes and bark till someone came out to kill it. There were a lot of copperheads in the area too. If he could grab and shake it easily he would do that but usually liked to bark at it a while to let them know that he had a snake. A lot of times he would find the snake under their wrap around deck and kill them there. But he would also try to help my uncle. When he was cutting lower branches on the black jack oak trees and carrying them to a burn pile Rocky would pick up a smaller branch and follow him to the pile to help. Every time my uncle made a trip to carry branches the dog was right there with him helping him.
