Is this true when selecting a cat?

I was told that in a situation where a working single adults wants to adopt a cat,it's better to get one that's older as opposed to a kitten. The idea is that an older cat is already trained and can handle themselves better when the person is out working, going places, etc. Is this true?

There is something to be said for adopting a senior but @HootyTheNightOwl is right, separation anxiety knows no age limit.

@HootyTheNightOwl Well, when he gets vocal, that's when you hold him and 🤗 snuggle.
@DavidT8899 Good luck catching him when he's doing it while zooming around the house...

@HootyTheNightOwl You know what to do?MEOW at him.Thats right, when to try to speak to a cat in the same language as a cat,it never fails to make them stop and look at you in wonderment!
