Strange thing in dogs ear

Hey everyone!
Around a few days ago, I noticed something in my dogs ear. I'm not sure if it's a growth, dirt or something else but it's not present in the other ear.
It will be a couple of days before I'm able to take him to the vet, that's why I decided to turn to this forum. I'm attaching a photo, so if anyone would be able to tell me what it is, I would greatly appreciate it.

Additional info: He is 8 years old, French Bulldog, has a lot of allergies, so unfortunately he scratches his ears quite a lot, when attempting to move the thing in his ear it was quite clear it hurts him/makes him uncomfortable so I stopped

dogs with flappy ear are known to get more ear infections. regular ear hygene is necessary to avoid this but for treating it is better to see a vet.

Never seen anything like that before. You'd definitely be best waiting for that vet appointment.
Hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like a build up of wax and dirt. Looks somewhat inflamed and might be infected. Can you use a cotton swab to see if you can remove some of it? If so, the ear needs a good cleaning and maybe something to relieve the irritation.

Take him to the vet

Maybe it’s wax? Try removing it with a cotton bud to see if it’s wax or if it’s actually a lump.

I clean my dogs ears regularly but they never look like that
Take him to the vet... hopefully, it's just a bad wax build up...

I know it's hard to watch, but I wouldn't do anything about it until you can take him to the vet. It could be a buildup of yeast, but it can be quite painful or itchy for them.

Unfortunately, as much as you might want to help, there isn't much you can safely do without knowing what's going on first
