Cat is getting neutered.

So I’ve had a stray make itself at home for about 3 months. Rather than bring it to the pound, I got it it’s shots, dewormed, and tomorrow he’s going to get neutered.

I just think its best for this guy rather than impregnate every female in the neighbourhood.

Anyways, any cat owners know what I need to expect after I bring him home?

That’s being responsible!!

@Quimliqer Just doing whats best.

If he is an outside cat he will hate your guts when you bring him home. By dinner time he'll be back. Neutering and spaying are the responsible things to do.

@Crazywaterspring I thought so too. Ty

Ah man mine was fine but he’s a cool guy. Didn’t even lick it much. Keeping him in was the worst part because he loves to be out and about.

@SW-User how long did you keep him inside?
SW-User
@LunarOrbit um I can’t remember they’ll give you a piece of paper it’s on there 😂I think it was a couple of days
Does he have a name?
I suggest calling him Knute after he's fixed.

yes i do. i belong to a TNR (trap neuter release) group in my neighborhood. i would tell you to keep him quiet but he will be pretty spooked. some come home and some don't. are you keeping him inside? smart thing to do. I live in florida and there is a real problem down here. we have it under control in my neighborhood
LunarOrbit · 56-60, M
@akindheart He will be kept inside for as long as possible. But he’s a stray so Im not sure how happy he will be with that. I am going to get a cat door for the garage so he has shelter in the winter.

I agree that having him neutered is best in many and ALL ways, for sure. Bless you for caring for him, instead of taking him to a "pound"/shelter.

As I recall, I was supposed to keep my male cat as calm as possible for awhile, as in not jumping around and stuff. That was about impossible, since he didn't seem at all phased by the procedure.

@Piper Thanks Piper. :)

I wonder what the animal hospital does with em? 🚮
Good on your and your family and best of luck. Cats are the best.
@LunarOrbit Not at all. Sorry to make you worried.

He just went through the other motions, I guess it's just instinct right.

@LunadelobosIAMTHEDRAGON Oh. Ok. Good to know. Thanks!
@LunarOrbit You're welcome.

And now, I will edit that reply.
