I’m Thinking Ike, the Parakeet, Will Start His Complaining When We Sit Down To Eat This Dinner…

Chuck steak with veggies, leftover rice with baby Lima beans, chopped salad…Sunday evening I was tired and agreed to make fried eggs sandwiches and as soon as I cracked the eggs in the pan Ike started fussing and kept saying “Parakeet, what will we do?” (He calls Boo-Boo, the other male parakeet, “Parakeet”…and Boo-Boo calls Ike “Parakeet” too when he is talking to Ike. Ike kept said it repeatedly Sunday evening. He should be glad I brought his feathered butt into the house because it got hot out in the sun room by noon.

Sounds quite the labour and auditory intensive pet commitment. Good on you for having the patience!
For me life is a series of dogs, all the same breed (rescues) but with unique and oh so different personalities. Bless you for your perseverance!

@Majorlatency He was quiet not saying anything the entire time we were eating dinner. I don’t think that has ever happened before since he started his complaining. . I told the boy before dinner that if he started fussing and complaining that I was gonna take him to the sun room and let him sit out there in the heat and complain to himself. I think he must have understood every word I said

@UnderLockDown I know, they sound really macho talking to each other that way. They don’t ever call the females “Parakeet”. They scoot on over to the edge of the cage where they can talk to each other too.

@LunadelobosIAMTHEDRAGON He didn’t complain one peep. I think he might have heard me tell the boy when he started his complaining I would pick up his cage and put him back out in the sun room so he could stay out there in the heat by himself and give him something to complain about. Not one word…..😂
