October 20th we noticed an abscess forming under her neck. We took her to the vet and had it drained. We brought her home for care and she seemed to be doing well. Yesterday she started wheezing and getting snotty. Tried to get an appointment but she couldn't be seen until Wednesday. Today she was worse so we took her to an emergency vet. Pneumonia. Also she declined very rapidly in the hour it took us to get there. I'm wondering if all the loud dogs in the waiting room didn't also give her a stroke from stress. But ultimately, the prognosis was really bad. Euthanasia was suggested and we accepted rather than leave her to suffer.
A Lop Eared Rabbit, she's precious. 🤗 And was a dear and faithful friend I'm sure. Very sorry for your loss, putting a pet down is a terrible thing to go through; but a necessary act of love and compassion.
My relative raised three, consecutively. They are prone to abscesses of the face and gums, that's how they lost their 3. Two were euthanized, the other died overnight. They were dear companions, and it was always very sad.
