I dont like being selfish.

I'd rather be a good person and do things out of the kindness of my heart.

Its ok if someone takes advantage. It's a happier lifestyle.

People that take advantage are the real losers.

With the sole caveat that one should avoid people who are serial takers as they are of no benefit whatever and do not provide positive examples, your main point is quite right.
A couple of quotes from Denis Diderot, the Enlightenment philosopher and encylpoedist:
