Are the living so selfish they think nothing of those no longer here?

Remembering familial histories and traditions died with our ancestors for the most part. Families don't gather and share stories as they once did. Passed from one generation to the next.

The more civilized a society is, the greater the thoughts and respect are for those that have passed.
