what does it mean when a lot of times you don't know what to say to 'insults'

when i get insulted by someone, i'm often surprised they said it and don't know what to say back.

what does this mean?

It means you are operating on all cylinders and they, alas, are not. It’s dangerous to your mental health to try to understand the incomprehensible. Just say, “THANK you”, add a smiley face and leave the asylum.
