why do people love ruining other people so much?

Roseanne, Kevin Spacey, Michael Jackson....we weren't there and have no idea of what really happened.

Roseanne admitted to what she did but instead of getting to the facts, people make up more lies about the whole thing until she was destroyed and the god awful version of the show kept going.

Kevin...weirdos came out of the wood work and accused him of things and he was found not guilty. Some smarmy little no talent comes out of nowhere and says something happened to him. But i never believed him. I am a victim many times over and i know what it is like and he never acted accordingly.

and Michael? what kind of whack job parents let their children go spend the night at some super stars house without them?! Sounds like they were setting him up to me. NO SANE PARENT WOULD DO THAT!

Remember back when society was smart enough to acknowledge that McCarthyism was a BAD thing? That guilt needed to be proven, and that accusations weren't evidence, let alone proof? I miss those days.

Emmett Till didn't die because of racism; he died because accusation equaled guilt in the tiny minds of that horrible place and time. And then the Kavanaugh hearings showed us that the same is true of this horrible place and time.

JC Denton said it best: when due process fails us, we really do live in a world of terror. When it extends beyond governments and criminal matters into everyday horror...

So its the kids parents that are guilty for letting Michael Jackson near them...not his own decision making?
@LadyInTheTower partially. i mean, seriously, who would do that? it is insane. you let some famous person have your child spend the night at their house without you....it sounds like a set up and using your children as pawns....blech! and some were obviously coached. they didn't speak like children.

so you think it isn't the parents fault if they do drugs and drink infront of their child and then the child ends up being an addict......?

@LILY61 I think it was certainly naïve of them to trust a celebrity, despite the wholesome family friendly persona Jackson was going for, family in the US believed it. And it was apparently only dscovered in retrospect what a vile creature he really was.
