Panhandlers here are usually just transients or druggies. If they were needy and/or homeless they can get just about anything they need here in this city for free. For example, there is a thrift store that has a refrigerator filled with milk & other cold foods for them to take, just walk in and reach in and get it, no questions asked. There is also a free grocery for those who are needy, they limit the amount for each person in the family but it’s free food. A food & shelter place that lets anyone come in for a meal, they don’t even ask about income or whatever. Free clothing, hygiene items and other necessities. I wouldn’t feel guilty about not giving. The police have asked the public not to do it because it’ll usually go for drugs or alcohol & then they’ll have to deal with the aftermath.
@cherokeepatti When McDonald's still had those gift certificates I'd give those out.
