I hope no one will ever make the mistake of thinking that there are always signs. Never underestimate a serial killer. They won't show you their true side or self, when meeting them. Ted Bundy was so handsome and charming. They usually are. Just know that you can't trust anybody. That has to be earned and never leave a social setting and go off with a stranger. You might not come back. Never be too trusting. Meet your dates in a social setting such as a bowling alley or nice restaurant but never meet them alone before you go on the date. If you can, check them out before you meet them. Being too nice, could be one of their traits. The "helpful" guy, watch out for. He may be genuine he may be not, but don't be too quick to trust. And that's a shame we even have to say that. Cuz there's some really nice guys out there. Always let someone know where you're going, where you're at and the guy's name. If you can, give them his license number. Better safe than sorry.
@being Not anymore. Not at all. It gets worse every day. I'm not trying to just be negative but this is a dangerous world we're living in now, a whole new ball game. My granddaughter who was kidnapped last week found that out.
We just need to be very cautious who we go off with or trust.

@LadyGrace I'm sorry to hear about your granddaughter, that must have been terrifying indeed.
But I refuse to call the world an unsafe place as I'm throwing myself into it and I'm trusting.
As a solo traveller and a person who is constantly working for their freedom, I love to be a realist.
Realistically, I've been attacked, followed and haunted by certain people throughout my life.
But I choose to trust and believe. The periods of my life whereas I've lived in fear are the worst periods.
I'm as careful as I can be, but I'm also prepared. We can live in a cage in order to protect ourselves, but what kind of life this makes and what does this level of protection do to us.
We turn to domesticated birds that can't even fly..
As in most cases, its the middle way..
Excuse me if you're recently hurt and I'm triggering your sense of safety now. When we've some fresh shock in any area, it's okay to become overprotective for a little while.
