I Love Old Fashioned Romance

Yeah..... old fashion romance has been lost.
To me, romantic gestures stem from manners, small things, kind words and kisses.
Ask me how my day is... hold my hand... hug me out of the blue...pick a pretty flower because you thought about me, write me a letter, send me a card, make me a sandwich for lunch.... sweet nothings are nice too...

I miss that stuff.

Saving this. A) because I was too stupid to ever do this stuff for my wife and b) time to start doing some of it again.

There's a lot of reward in doing this. Expressing love like this makes you feel good as well. It reminds you of how fortunate you are to have someone in your life that loves you....that wants to be with you....and is ever so glad to see you walk in that front door.

If that isn't 'happiness' I don't know what is!!!
@DistractedKate101: absolutely. It's gotta be nice to reciprocate without feeling forced since it's being given without asking. Plus, imagine how he or she feels when they get your genuine smile, sparkle in their eyes, blush cheeks in appreciation

Tender moments
Did you know that one of the most important things that's lost in long term relationships is..???

Kissing.

It's done so much at the beginning of courtships and sadly lost as time goes on. It's far more intimate than sex or foreplay.

@NoraOnora: I get what you mean. There's kissing and then there's "kissing like a lover."

There's both an eagerness to connect and an urgency with such smooching. It's like walking in the desert for miles and hours on end without a drink of water and then satisfying a thirst with a long cool drink of water.

The trick is....creating the special moments so that you both can "return to bliss".

My mom and dad made it a priority to make that happen on a regular basis. The result....two really happily married folks!
@DistractedKate101: your folks knew what love is :> it sweet.
