Do you like those old-style timers, with sand falling through a tiny tube?

I think them quite profound at measuring time by grains of sand, and I feel them so very emblematic. I wonder whether in Heaven there is some similar kind of timer that measures each one of us, or even a timer that only God can read for the world, this system, this flawed system of things, existence.

The sands of time are running out!

Yes, in a sense, there is most definitely a very similar kind of timer in eternity: since eternity is endless, all of the moments in eternity are nfinitesimal, like grains of sand . . .

@MPath37 Interesting perspective

@DaliaCQ and compared with the limitlessness of God, any of our acts are like grains of sand

@MPath37 Yes, so very true

@DaliaCQ but, if we open our hearts to God, and let God pour God's love into our hearts, then our little acts of love become so much more

@DaliaCQ if you want to read spiritual works in this vein, I recommend checking out the writings of Saint Therese of Lisieux, and books about her. After the Bible, she' has provided one of the top two written influences on my spirituality.
