People can only meet you as deeply as they’ve met themselves.

I like how you put it. There is so much truth to this.

I’ve experienced this myself in all my different interactions with people.

🤗 Thank you for the kind words. You know that I ALWAYS look forward to sharing thoughts, insights with you.

You have a different approach to life that I find refreshing, often enlightening, and making me rethink what I thought I already know.

….

We develop that kind of depth when we are willing to be honest, even if only to ourselves.

It’s not easy to ask ourselves the tough questions and face the truth in our own answers. That truth can make us grow or break us. The outcome is our choice.

The process allows us to see the world and people around us in a different light.

@CookieCrumbs Growing up I didn’t have any loyalties to one side of life. I was deeply conflicted internally due to mental illness, symptoms of DID without the forgetting. For this reason I had no consistency as a person. This wasn’t all bad though, because it’s why I not only found ways to relate to everything, but I would also spend much of my thought on critically thinking up ways to challenge any views I found, like a devil’s advocate. My therapist back then commented on that and said my mind had the exceptional talent of always being able to come up with a valid counter argument, sadly that’s also why I’ve struggled to be accepted by people.

So I’m just happy I’ve been fortunate enough to meet people like you who find that enlightening and refreshing. The world teaches you how to be nice with lies, but I spent all my time being brutally honest with myself in isolation. This hurt my interactions with others in the past. I’ve gotten better about it though and now I keep things very shallow with people as I’ve learned that’s what they almost always prefer.
@Reject Yes, world needs precisely that.
