I'm different than my fellow geeks.
My hobbies are trains (lifelong railfan), paleontology, zoology, astronomy, geography, music, video games, the American Civil War, and fictional universes. Some of the fictional universes I like are from video games that I think have a good story.
My favorite fandoms are:
1. Star Wars, especially the first six movies plus the original Expanded Universe (now called Legends). There are a few Disney canon Star Wars I like but not like I like Legends.
2. Mortal Kombat. There's multiple continuities in this franchise, my favorites are the MK9, MKX, and MK11 timeline, then the original timeline, and the New Era. There's is a Mortal Kombat cinematic universe that includes the 2021 movie and this new one as well as future titles. In time I'll be able to decide if I like the New Era Better or the Cinematic Universe.
3. Independence Day. I have both movies as well as the omnibus with the original ID4 novelization and two tie in novels. I also have the book Independence Day: Crucible
4. Sonic. I know the Sonic games aren't story driven but the ones that have a good story I have enjoyed so far. I want to get into the IDW Comics. I need to see the movies.
5. I want to get further into Zelda. I've only played Ocarina of Time.
Most of the fandoms I enjoy have multiple universes or timelines.
I also like Thomas the Train/Railway Series, even though I'm an adult. I like the older seasons of the show, I also read the lore from the books to see how different they are from the show.
