@thewindupbirdchronicles I agree! And there are rules, self imposed rules, agreed upon rules among rulers of like mind or ones that can benefit from the other.

@nonsensiclesnail What are the rules? If the people of Taiwan vote to be independent from China, they should be? If those are the rules, the same rules should apply in all regions. It seems the rules change on case by case basis and ultimately it's up to the US and its allies to decide.

@RocktheHouse not like i know the rules. Its always been up to whomever has the bigger guns and the most to gain.

America isn't drawing the boundaries, the people in those countries are. America is just supporting their right for self-determination.
BohemianBabe · M
@RocktheHouse If those regions took a vote, and the people decided to secede, then they should secede. But that's not really what happened.
RocktheHouse · M
@BohemianBabe Yes, it is. The people of Donetsk and Luhansk held a referendum in 2014, the very same year Crimea held its referendum to join Russia with a 97% vote. Obama and other Western leaders claimed the referendums violated international law.

@RocktheHouse Bruh... those were legit elections the way the Soviet Union had legit elections.

@Darksideinthenight2 US senators are currently contemplating legislation that would change the US official position to recognize Taiwan as an independent nation, along with selling Taiwan billions in military weapons.
