I don’t use it as a measure of respect, but I am interested in if they enjoy/value what they do. it’s cool when I find out we’re in similar fiends and have common ground. Networking is helpful. I do notice that I don’t click with people who have settled into jobs they dislike, not because of whatever the job is, but a difference in our personalities.

Such people do not deserve my respect in return then.
I only ask that question to make conversation and get to know someone better but yeah there are people out there who feel they are better than others just cause they make more money or do not get themselves dirty while working.

I definately use it as a way to deciding if they are a tool for me workwise.
I dont think It makes me loom down on them, but Im sure subconsciously i put more effort into people that are beneficial to me.

You may be onto something with certain people. However some want to know to make connections or maybe see what type of services you may have that could be useful to them or maybe something in common.

I don't give a shit what someone does. If they are interesting that it is where it is.

Perhaps some people do. I ask for the sake of getting to know someone.
Sometimes it’s just small talk z as me they are grasping for topics.

I never thought about it that way but it’s basically true

Thank those who do, it tells so much about them.

That’s very true.
That is the reality here
